As peak body, the Genetic and Rare Disease Network (GaRDN) advocates to influence outcomes in public policy and resource allocation within Government as well as the policies and practices of service agencies to ensure optimal results for people living with a genetic and/or rare condition.
Our systemic advocacy work includes media, participation in committees, submissions to government policy review processes and direct representation to politicians and other key decision-makers.
Individual advocacy can directly assist parents/families to resolve issues of specific relevance to their family. For more information on individual advocacy read our Resource Guide for Families.
